November 6, 2021

I've been firing up the rocket stove since mid-October. I got a taller smokestack on it & found it's happiest if I set it up to light, burn one piece of paper in the prime hole then light the fire in the feed tube. The bench was very cold & has warmed up slowly.
But the room is a real joy. We hang out there pretty much every night.

Wood storage near burn tube. Little fold out bench was a pretty good idea but it doesn't reach out quite far enough for my short legs to sit on it & feed the fire. A folding director's chair sans back is working great, though... & the fold-out is a great coffee table.

Little detail: a bit of a heat guard for the wood top of the wood storage cubby.

Started cutting door through what was once an exterior wall but is now connecting the Solarium with my art studio. I need to peel a Juniper for the door frame before removing load bearing studs.
